2007 Workshop plans established
56th renewal of high school journalism seminar opens July 17
With the cooperation of California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, the California Scholastic Press Association has finalized plans for its 56th summer workshop.
This year's Workshop will run from July 15 through July 27. Deadline for applications is Friday, May 4.
Operated and taught exclusively by working professionals in print, broadcast, online and visual media, the workshop has drawn praise for its real-world techniques and deadline-oriented focus.
Participation is limited to 25 high school juniors or seniors considering a career in journalism. The two-week program is built on learning by doing, and its intensive curriculum has been praised by graduates as the best preparation they received for working in the field.
Workshop schedule being finalized
With the deadline passed for 2007 workshop applications, the CSPA board has turned its attention to finalizing the two-week schedule and confirming the roster of instructors. Details will be posted here soon. Students should check back regularly for the latest information.
